I unpack the book Red Twin

It’s a very special moment when you see your book for the first time.

Yesterday I had a live stream where I unpacked the first copies of my sci-fi adventure Red Twin and showed it to the whole world.

It was truly a special moment to finally see the result of my hard work after all these years.

For this special moment I made sure to bring good friends like Grogu and Baby Groot. With great nervousness I carefully opened the box until the book’s spine became visible. You can see my reaction in the video below. It was astonishing—the world in my head materialized right in front of me. How could this be possible? It was only an idea that Pontus and I came up with by the statue outside the Royal Palace. A hobby I worked on on my commutes to and from work. Words I spilled onto the page in a chaotic mess. Yet there it was. Yet it was real.

I had a lot of help from Pontus and many others along the way. My family has put up with a lot—endlessly listening to me talk about the Colony, alien technology, the empress, and Smier.

My dear beta readers Johan and Siri were given a far-from-finished draft. Still, they were patient and offered invaluable feedback. Without them, the book would not be anywhere near what it is today.

My cover designer Sadia Shahid has done a fantastic job of turning my vision into reality.

After three drafts and basic proofreading, I was ready to bring in a professional editor. Enter Daniel Sjöberg aka Manuslyftet, prepared to tackle a brick of a book and analyze it both as a whole and in detail. He read the entire manuscript several times to understand how this eager amateur needed guidance. In his report, Daniel accurately pointed out how I create characters in line with George R.R. Martin and sometimes use twice as many words as necessary (perhaps including this article?). But most importantly, I needed to learn how to properly eliminate filler words (like, had, would to mention a few) and use a richer vocabulary than “big,” “long,” and “fast.” Thank you, Daniel! That definitely deserves a rarely used exclamation mark.

With Daniel’s insights, I was able to shape the book you are now reading (April 29, 2026). It is certainly not perfect and probably has more errors than I found, but all I want is to take you on an adventure, a journey you will never forget. Now it is up to you to tell me whether I succeeded.
