Thomas Kung writes epic, character-driven science fiction where neon-lit cyberpunk tech collides with cold cosmic mysteries. His debut, Red Twin, pulls readers into the Colony—a multicultural frontier where three alien races and a stubborn young hero collide over power and hidden secrets. Since 2019, Thomas has been building the world in detail, from virtual underground networks to maps that have attracted a devoted online community.
He produces around 1,000 words a day and sharpens every chapter with Save-the-Cat precision and AI-generated concept sketches before beta readers are invited in. The result: cinematic pacing, vivid settings, and characters that fuse heart with hard sci-fi—think The Expanse meets Neuromancer. As a programmer, Thomas also builds his own tools and apps to deepen the reader experience.
One of my big passions is archery. It’s an activity that not only helps me focus and improve my concentration, but also gives me a chance to unwind and stay present. Drawing the bow and carefully aiming at my target gives me a sense of strength and calm.
Mongolia is a country known for its rich culture and history. It is the land where Genghis Khan once ruled and where nomadic traditions are still a significant part of the lifestyle for many people.
Having a partner from another country can also enrich one’s life in many ways. It provides the opportunity for cultural exchange and insight into different traditions and perspectives.

So even though I live near Stockholm, nature, archery and my wife’s connection to Mongolia are important aspects of my life. They allow you to enjoy the best of both the urban and natural worlds, while also giving me the opportunity to explore new cultures and strengthen my relationships.
This has clearly influenced my writing and hopefully shown my readers something new.
As a writer, I am inspired by other science fiction authors such as Andy Weir (The Martian), Ernest Cline (Ready Player One), R.R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire), Becky Chambers (Wayfarers series), and undoubtedly Star Wars!
I’ve always liked writing – my first work is from 3rd grade – but it took a while for the token to sink in. When I started with “Red Twin” it was a children’s book and eventually it became something of a “Star Wars VS Game of Thrones” 😄
After a couple of years of procrastinating, I learned the craft of writing from podcasts and non-fiction literature (Chris Fox’s book “5,000 Words Per Hour” was incredibly helpful). In this way, I created a workable routine, and it has led me to where I am today.
Tack för att du är med på resan och välkommen till min värld!
